Respite Care
Respite care is a short or long-term accommodation service funded by the NDIS. The objective of this service is to allow the participant’s primary carer (family member, guardian, parents or spouse) a break from their activities. More importantly, it provides the participants with a change of pace from their routine lives, and allows them to try new things. The service is especially beneficial for participants looking to explore new places & meet new people.
Respite care services vary from one NDIS provider to another. At La Grace Care Services, we help our participants in Victoria plan short trips and assist them during their getaways.
Here are some of the things we help you under this service:
- Help you join a new community of like-minded people.
- Assist you with planning a short trip away from home.
- Assist your primary carers in looking after your needs, at your home or in a shared accommodation set-up.
- Help you participate in community activities, in the absence of your primary carer.
- Assist you in enroling for activities that match your interests.
